A Pine Marten Tries Sneaking up On A Common Buzzard and Her Egg

A Buzzard is sitting on her nest when she hears something, she perks up looks around and attacks something, a Pine Marten, which is pretty hard to see because it quickly gets out of her way. She hops around the nest several times snapping her wings fiercely.

I was especially impressed with her defense of her egg because last year a Pine Marten ate an eagle chick from one of the nests I was watching.

Ravens Pull a Buzzard’s Tail

The ravens are pretty much the same size as the buzzard so the buzzards rarely get much dinner before the tail pulling drives them away. The eagles last a lot longer, they shake their feathers and the ravens back off.

Buzzards seem quite similar to the North American Red-tailed Hawk
